chris/others - to those of you new to the Savage, let me say that doing your own oil change really is quite straightforward by just following your owners manual. One thing they don't mention is the fact that you need a 17mm wrench to loosen the drain plug. A 17mm socket won't work - not enough room between the frame rail and engine drain plug to get the socket wrench to it. My 17mm wrench was purchased at the local hardware store for 3.29 and worth every penny.
